I can get up a rescue party to come push you back into the water, Cynthia, but you'd probably beach again, due to the Chicago water temps!

Great to hear that you're up to typing, and flushing, and draining, and bagging, and.......

and doing it from the hotel bed is MUCH better than from the hospital bed!

Welcome back, dear Cynthia. How many stitches?

Hi Cynthia

Great to see you back on line. I cant imagine what you have gone through, as the only operations I have ever had have been TURBTs. Which compared to your ordeal, I am sure are a piece of cake. I wish you a much earned speedy recovery.
All the best,:)

Cynthia...were you having stenosis problems with the stoma prior to the surgery ? Thats a bummer..an indwelling cath...do you have to do the saline thing again? Well i hope it doesn't have to stay too long.
Glad you're sort of up and about and hopefully a quick recovery.

Wonderful to see you on-line, Cynthia! Somehow the beached whale image struck me, with the indwelling catheter as sort like the whale's "blow hole" (except of course whale blow holes are for breathing, not peeing).

Take it easy, and happy healing. Maybe soon you can go on a real destination vacation -- preferably somewhere tropical.

All my best,

Ann

Well here we are on the other side and starting the healing process. I can’t say I am impressed with the fun factor of this vacation so far but that is what you get hiring a Urologist as your cruise director I imagine. I am still at the beached whale stage anyone that has ever had surgery knows what that means. Due to the repair on my stoma because of scar tissue I have an indwelling cath and we are having to stay on top of it as it wants to clog up if you take your eyes off it.
I will write more as I can and let you know more as time goes on. Thank you for all the positive energy it has came handy so far.
