Cynthia,

So glad to hear that the infection is responding to the antibiotics! I agree about the Christmas decorations. At least you have the kissing ball up! Continued prayers your way.

Just a quick update on the continuing saga of the joys of blc and the Boston journey, I will be going back on Jan 5th to have the neph tube removed hopefully. Now that the antibiotics have kicked in I am feeling that I just may make it after all, and joy of joy I can now put on my own socks again. Hopefully my kidney function will start to improve now it has not yet but it is early days, and we will now begin the search for why I cannot seem to retain minerals and why my kidneys are enlarging. The good news is that even though they could not do any biopsies due to worry of spreading the infection from the abscess it is more and more likely that there may not be a new cancer involved.

It is good to be back to work and again thank you all for your show of concern and support. There may be a fewer gifts and decorations around here and the meals may not be as elaborate as usual as I can only do what I can do. But you know what that is ok because we are left with the most important gifts of all…..good friends, love and hope for a better new year.
