I'm so glad the cancer was contained in the bladder and there was no upper tract involvement. It is good to hear good news.

So glad to hear you are home and on the road to full recovery! Harry can relate to your bout with ileus...he also had that problem AND an infection that kept him in the hospital 28 days! His surgery was 10/1/07, so we keep thinking ... a year ago today ... we were still at Stanford...ugh! I told him we should celebrate on 10/28 to mark the anniversay of his hospital release!!! Glad to hear no chemo is needed. Best wishes for a full recovery ahead. Don't get too discouraged, it will take a while for your body to regroup and get back to normal...patience. (easier said than done!) Harry and Margot

Thanks Pat!

Yes, it turned out that there was no kidney involvement. They also did biopsies on the ends of the ureters and end of the urethra while they were there. All that was clear.

Mike........way to go!! What great news and i'm so glad they took the 4l nodes....So i'm assuming the kidneys were not really affected as you thought?
Good work on being a knowledgable consumer!!!
Yeah...i remember that ileus...i had it also..unfortunately mine did not resolve and i had to have a second surgery...no fun at all...silly part of my small intestine got trapped under my ureter!!
And yes the bowels are very angry creatures with this surgery but they are forgiving eventually. You will regain strength a day at a time and you'll no longer be Igor for long!! Congratulaions.........Pat
