I'm sure your surgeon can tell you if the clear liquid is a normal condition or not...you've got one of the best.
But please remember you may have 30 stitches on the outside but imagine how many are on the inside that are holding things together. As much as i admire GEO's attitute and his amazing ability to recover..most of us were not that lucky. And i think its a good idea to follow the rules on lifting, driving, etc for the full 6 weeks as you are also healing on the inside. Spagetti...absolutely!!!

Just checking in to see if the situation is going. Hopefully the leaking has stopped.

Pete,
Sounds like you need to get out of bed and get moving.... Eat lots of spaghetti !!!!!
My incision is about 9 inches and 26 staples. I've had no problems. Pete, I'm not bragging but I was driving 2 days after I got home and went for a motorcycle ride a week later. I'm not one for sitting still. I'll have Plenty of time for that later!!!!
Take care and get well soon,
George

Grandpadonut,

Glad to hear from you, I had laproscopic surgery to have my bladder out, so I didn't have but a 2 and one half inch cut. I had no staples, just a few stitches. I had a little leaking from my stitch area, my home health nurse put stoma powder on my leaking area, I wouldn't try it unless you ask the visiting nurse, and if it doesnt clear up call you Doctor. Tammy can call Ginger if she is frightened, it will be okay, there lots of little things that come up like this, they are all just bothersome, but need to be addressed.
You just want to be sure infection stays away... call me anytime, Gene

Don't rush staple removal. Mine came out 13 days after surgery and my wound opened on both ends. It took 10 weeks to heal completely because they can not reclose your wound once it opens. Be patient the result will be worth it.
