Chemo and neo

Hi Charlotte,

I was 5 1/2 weeks out of RC when I began chemo - even had a bout with c-diff just before chemo, too. The chemo nurses thought I should have a catheter during the infusion as they use lasix( a diuretic) to protect the kidneys. I was adamant that I wanted no catheter. Even though I sat in the chair closest to the bathroom during chemo - I was not fast enough. So I wore pull ups:(
I felt like I had no control over my neo during the majority of the infusions.
During the 1 week off - I was able to get some control so I pretty sure I'd have better control when the chemo was done - which I did.
Chemo is tough right after RC - but you guys can do this I was worried my neo was not working but it was just the chemo at the time. I am here if you need me, God Bless, Holly

I recommend you take a change of clothes and just wear the diapers. My first five hour infusion was mildly traumatic. Luckily everyone was very nice. My problem is that Neo still hasn't settled back down.

I'm having the same thoughts. I start chemo next friday and with all the fluids they pump in you. I have no idea how I am going to control all the leakage with my new neobladder. My treatments are going to last approx. 5 hours. How embarassing is this going to be...

I am looking for information on neo- bladders and chemo. I just started chemo this week and neo is completely unpridictable. If you are female and have any insight I would appreciate it.
