How can they refuse to accept cash as a form of payment? This is very upsetting for everyone.....bladder cancer or not.
I am total agreement with Pat's sentiments regarding this situation.
I hope you get some satisfaction harleygirl.

Listed before are some resources that might help. What you are telling me just does not add up and I would not let it stand without questioning it. As informed medical consumors when something does not add up it is time to get answers. Hope this helps.

I have had very good luck and you may also with calling the Senator's office for your area and asking for the aide that handles this sort of thing for them. Calmly let them know what is going on and ask for them to get you resources to take care of this issue.

How very precious of the government to put restrictions on our care..isn't that a form of blackmail? Either sign up with us or we throw you to the lions! Its bad enough that many institutions won't take many insurance plans..it delayed Marias care by what 2 months? I wonder if anybody is listening in Congress?.....oh yeah thats right they don't have to pay for any insurance.............Pat

I finally got my Dad to agree to a second opinion at MD Anderson before he submits to yet another surgery and we found out this morning that MD Anderson does not accept Dad's insurance! He opted for an HMO instead of Medicare (not sure how all that works but nobody has turned it down since this journey began until now) and Anderson says they have an agreement with Medicare not to accept this insurance.

Dad even offered to pay out-of-pocket for the appointment but MD Anderson says that's not allowed per their agreement with Medicare.

Needless to say, I am very frustrated about this turn of events and especially about the fact that we can't even PAY for the visit!

Has anyone else faced this with MD Anderson or have any suggestions on how Dad might still be able to be seen at Anderson?

Thanks.
