Hi all!

My consultant just wants to monitor the cyst. We know it was not there this time last year as I had an ultrasound as part of my original investigations. he will monitor it at my next MRI scan in 6 months. Things just keep happening?!!

Congratulations on the good news! Some years ago when I was being evaluated for an upcoming hysterectomy (fibroids, not cancer, fortunately) they spotted what looked like an ovarian cyst on the scan. Since I was already in my 50s, they said it was best to have ovaries out as well as uterus. When they operated -- lo and behold, no cyst. If you are not totally past menopause, apparently some things that look like cysts on scans are just normal monthly swelling of egg follicles (some are larger than others) and they don't show up on repeat scans. And, my sister-in-law when she was in her ate 30's had what looked like a cyst but was in fact found to be just extra tissue from her having endometriosis.

Small TA Grade 1, May-06; recur (2 tiny), same, June-08; TURBTs both times. BCG begun July-08, dosage to 1/3rd May-10, completed treatment December-11. All clear since 2008.

Hello Betsy Mae,

Great news about your scan results...

Will they have to do something with the ovarian cyst?

Have just returned from my outpatient appointment with my consultant. So far so good. Clear MRI scan (well apart from the ovarian cyst that he had 'forgotten' to tell me about after the last MRI scan!)and no other problems. Having asked him lots of questions about the operation (following threads on this site) he eventually handed me a copy of my histology report! I think this is unheard of in the UK! I'm now going to try to do without the low dose antibiotics which is a great step forward - keep your fingers crossed everyone as I tend to get regular infections. Cystoscopy booked for September, repeat MRI at some point and another follow up with the consultant in January 2009. Quite a good result I think!
