Hi everyone:
I've been asked by my mom to come on and update everyone as to her condition post-op. To be honest, I'm not too "up" on all the terminology so I'll do the best I can. Also, I don't want to say too much and steal her thunder. If I say too much it will also rob you of her telling of the story.....my mom is a heck of a terrific story teller. She went in last Thursday for her cycstectomy which was combined with a full hysterectomy. She sailed through with flying colors. She had one minor set-back the second day and had to have a blood transfusion, however, overall she did really great. All pathology is back and she is now cancer free. YIPPPEEEE.
Yesterday she was finally eating solids and drinking the proper amount of liquids. Her bowls "woke up" and everythings going in the right direction. She will be released today to an aftercare/rehabilitation center in our hometown and stay there for a bit before coming home. She said she will come online and post as soon as she is able.
Personally, I want to thank all of you who have enouraged her and helped her on this most difficult journey. This board has been a source of comfort, information and tremendous support. I'm so happy she found all of you. She had developed some wonderful connections that I'm sure helped her though some very rough days.
To all of you who are in the midst of journey, I pray for a speedy recovery or at least for God's peace as you endure the trials and tribulations that are ahead. Just offer it up to him and he will take care of the rest.
Many blessings to all.
