Mom had her biopsies done at Vanderbilt a week ago last Wednesday. Her paperwork said to call the doc today to discuss results. She called, doc is out of town, nurse is out for the day - no one has results. She's tentatively scheduled for r/c next Friday, 6/13, but on day of turb doc breezed in BEFOREHAND and said he didn't think he'd rush to do r/c due to her age (79). He said if she was "50 or 55" he would, but it would adversely affect her quality of life. She met with him with all of her records a few weeks ago and he said none of this (I also suspect he didn't have time to look at her records then). She has CIS. I can't imagine not doing r/c - since she will probably progress to invasive BC and end up doing r/c later anyway, probably with chemo and radition then. She has not responded to BCG or BCG with the extra drug. He seems anxious for her to enter a trial he's doing of a new drug.
I'm annoyed we have no answers today. So now she won't know anything until Monday at the earliest, and she could have r/c Friday.
I think perhaps she should switch to another doc at Vanderbilt. She has felt since consultation that this doc was very rushed, and not very interested in HER.
