Year Ago Today

Jeff the stomas whether it be the Pouch or Bag for men is on the right,most females get their stomas in their navals. My stoma is 3 inches to the right of my belly button and down about 3 inches but far enough above the belt line, and no bigger then the size of a quarter for the Indiana Pouch. Joe

Thanks for the further info, gene. I saw the Uro today, will have an mri then schedule the big one. Should be about 3 weeks. He said the stoma would be on the right.

Hi Rick, it was great to read your post and what a year that was.
I am same dx as you and have read your posts with interest. You are a great inspiration to us all here on the forum. I wish you and your family well and hope you continue to progress well. I too am a great believer in prayer and positive thoughts, however, emotionally I have good days and bad days.

I do not hook up to the floor bag at night . I just leave my regular bag on and get up once to empty. Now I can turn flip whatever, but I do wear the belt they gave me, it holds it in place not to flip around..therefore no worries about not being able to move around..always here to help!!!! The stoma is on the right about 2 inches directly across from your belly button, once you have it and get use to seeing it everyday its no biggy, never thought I would say that 6 months ago......as scary as it all seems when its over you will find the wait was the worst part. My wife and I both were scared shitless and afterwards just happy it was over with...be not fraid!!!!Gene

Well it's 0-0 in the DBacks opener with the Reds. Should be a good game. I remember we went to the DBacks divisional 2nd game 2 weeks after my 3rd turbo...and I felt like 'you-know-what'. It was also 3 weeks after my 2nd turbo, since they couldn't complete that one due to a retractor that broke inside of me, had to do the 3rd a week later!! Maybe it was the 200 mile trip to the game that did it. Hopefully the Backs can get a little further this year.

Thank you Gene, Fear, and Rick for all the information and support. You guys are inspirational to say the least. Wasn't sure about placement of the stoma, Rick, and I guess which handed you are is important, then again, I sleep on the left side of the bed! Oh well, choices, choices.

And as usual the Phillies lost their home opener kind of use to it now but I think we are going to pretty good this season because we have that awesome duo Rollins and Howard all we need is the bullpen and they are working on it now. How's the vacation going or should I ask it has to be wonderful down there I'm jealous. Cheers, Joe
