Florida Pouch

Maria,

Smart you are to be reviewing the options. I think the Florida pouch is very similiar to the Koch and Indiana pouches...was given the idea that there isn't much differences, but just that it was initially performed in that particular area of the country. I had it in mind that I would get the Indy and I did, but things could have gone differently and the doctors really don't know until they get in and see the "lay of the land" so to speak. Therefore, it is best to read up on all the options...then tell the doctor what you want and if that can't happen, what you want next. Most of us did not want the bag yet that is what some get eithier because they choose it or sometimes it is all the surgeon can do. It seems like everyone adapts to whatever they receive, but it is good to be mentally prepared for whatever may happen. I think all three have their plus and minus aspects.

Thanks Zachary, sometimes I just forget about the wealth of information on the first page! I can't decide what will be best for me!!! Hope to have some help with my decision when I see a surgeon.

On the main WebCafe page, if you enter "Florida" into the search field, it provides this:

(Just a reminder that there is an absolute wealth of information on the main site in addition to this forum.)

Could anybody clarify Florida pouches (a modification of Indiana pouches)?
What is the difference?
This has been suggested by a surgeon via my INS co in the event I would be unsuitable for a neo bladder and have been offered this alternative.

thanks
