Hi Lorrie,

I am glad you guys are getting alittle break. It seems with Cancer there are few days that are actually "Issue Free". Glad to hear about a home visit from the Dr. That is rare and sure is easier than getting ready and driving to an appoitment.

I have a suggestion for the diaper issue...If you ask the insurance co. if they can just give you a check every month you will buy your own supplies. Generally they will pay their suppliers 2 or more times the cost of what they would cost you. You could also ask if you can find a cheaper supplier.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas,
Karen

Hi all- I haven't posted anything in quite awhile, but I have been reading all your posts. Everyone has their problems- Cancer has changed so many lives.Bob is doing quite well at the moment, has managed to put on about 10 lb. now (still needs another 20 but is getting there). He has come down with a bad cold (maybe Bronchitis)- the nurse urged us to see the Dr. - 4 days to Christmas Ididn't think it would be possible, but low and behold. she is making a housecall today!! I know-WOW
UNREAL!!! This is the Dr. that screwed up last Jan & has been feeling guilty ever since (good). Unfortunately Bob is scheduled for a lung biopsy next Fri. & if he is still sick it will be cancelled. He had a biopsy in the hospital on the lung nodule that suddenly appeared, but they couldn't get any results from it.When he saw the Dr. that did it,-now he says that there are 3 lung nodules--like where did this come from??? So, we are still frustrated with the communication issues. On another note, Bob is still wearing diapers (exercises don't seem to be working too well) & thes are being supplied as long as he has Homecare, as are his meds. Well, we tried to order another case yesterday only to be told that he can only have 1 case a month ( that works out to 3 a day & Bob uses about 12 a day). So, this morning I started calling around to see if i could get some answers on that. I guess they want us to wash them out! More red tape- reminds me of how they wanted him to re-use syringes when he had the catheter in. But, we are grateful that he hasn't had a UTI in awhile. So folks, that's about all the news for now- i want to thank you all for the support & want to wish you all the very best of the season & a hopefully happy new year. Lorrie
