Pat,

OH, I am so sorry to hear of your husbands brother. And the complication of having your situation at the same time is unbearable for sure. Seems like a bubble of doom, but be strong as you can fight for life, as I am sure his brother would want him to get on with living. I want to hear good news from you soon. I'll say some prayers for you both....Ginger

Pat,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your brother-in-law.

I have been having my Chemo over the past ten weeks.
Twice I had counts that prevented me from having treatment. This resulted in moving out to future weeks.

Just prior to my third treatment my platelets were way below the risk count.
The second time was last week when my Absolute Netrophil Count was below 100 (Below 500 is a high risk of infections).

Now instead of being done with all the cycles next Wednesday, I will not be done until mid-December.

The positive is that I really feel allot better with the additional week off.

My sister-in-law died at 46 years old of breast cancer this past January. It was two months before I found out that I had cancer. The thoughts that would have been going through my mind if I had known at that time, is hard to imagine.

Stay strong.

Good luck to your husband
Rick

My husbands plalets dropped really low this week so he will not have the chemo today nor next week. Next week was his rest week anyway.

So no treatment till the 28th. Lab of course every week. We also meet with the doctor the 28th too.

His brother with the stomach cancer passed away on the 6th and we made the trip back to SD for that which is a distance from KS. I don't know if that had anything to do with the drop or not. Stress doesn't help anything in my opinion.

I'm hanging in there but the funeral was also stressful for me. Standing next to someone with cancer at a funeral for someone that died from it adds to the stress that it could be him. The serenity prayer helped much.

take care
