I agree with what Sara Anne said.

I would caution that the recommended retention time (a.k.a. dwell time) is "up to 2 hours." The instruction sheet that I received when I had my first BCG treatment had this written in bold type.

Wouldn’t think that this would be a problem at all. It has been suggested that drinking a lot of water is a good idea to get things back to normal after BCG. You waited until you got home before drinking and you were able to hold it for the two hours. It would take a while for the water to get through your stomach and renal system anyway.

So upon arriving home from BCG maintenance treatment (half dose) I was thirsty and without thinking drank a pint of water. This was while BCG still in my bladder. I was able to retain it for 2+ hours as proscribed but am wondering if the water I drank diluted or neutralized the treatment rendering it ineffective (or less effective). I didn't see any cautionary instruction advising against water intake when I researched it but was wondering if anyone on this board can offer any additional insight. Thanks.
