Thank you Sara, yes we called the doctors office and the nurse in charge said it’s totally normal for the next 4 weeks to have bleeding as long as they are not huge clots. You are right when you said it could be the scabs that were irritated. After 3 bloody urine episodes, the last one with small clots (could be the scabs) his urine is all clear again. That was a scare though.

Welcome, although sorry that you need to be here!

Yes, it is possible that this is a totally normal event after the TURB. Small pieces of the bladder lining and muscle were removed during this procedure and scabs formed over the wounds. If one falls off it is possible for the bleeding that your husband noticed to occur. However, he should mention it to his doctor (probably the most efficient way to do this is to leave a message for him with his nurse.) While we may have a pretty good idea of what might be going on, we are NOT doctors here!!

Good luck to your husband!!

Hi, I am new here and my husband was just recently diagnosed with Urotherial carcinoma in the situ. My question is, is it normal to suddenly have fresh blood in his urine after 1 week and 3 days of his bladder biopsy? We had sex last night and could it be a reason for the bleeding? He didn’t have bleeding like that even after the biopsy so I’m just wondering if it happened to anyone? Thanks!
