Your uro is doing a good job!! He needed to get a sample of the muscle and nearby tissue to be sure that the cancer had not spread into it. You will note many quotes on this Forum of results from a path report that state that no muscle was present. We just hope that this was enough sample to give a complete diagnosis in those cases!!

Hello all,
Well I had my first TURBT today. Sent home with a catheter until Friday. He said it was 2 cm and looked superficial but also said he had to get down to the muscle so expect some bleeding. Now I am really freaking out. Is that standard for good margins or did this thing go all the way to the muscle? I was still half out of it so didn't think to ask him. Any thoughts are always greatly appreciated.
