Thank you, this was the best worst present! You said a mouthful there! I wish Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and may all your health issues be better this New Year!

Sorry that you and your husband got such an awful Christmas present However it is about the best bad news that you could’ve gotten. Low grade non-invasive bladder cancer is treated exactly the way that your husband is being treated with cystoscopy examinations every three months usually for up to two years. If there has been no reoccurrence at that time the patient is usually scheduled for a cystoscopy every six months until five years have passed with no recurrence. After that the exams are once a year forever. Should there be a recurrence during this time the clock resets and you start all over

It is very important that your husband keep up with those examinations because bladder cancer has a nasty little habit of trying to come back. He will want to be sure that any possible recurrences or caught early .

Best of luck to both of you

Hello, I just joined this forum because my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer on Friday December 14 and had a 3 cm tumor removed on Monday. The Dr said it was not aggressive and was a superficial tumor, just down to muscle surface. He said they got it all and he has to be checked every 3 months. They put mitomyacin in his bladder for 2 hrs after surgery and drained it.
