Neoplasms may be benign (not cancer), or malignant (cancer). Also called tumor.

As to the rest, it takes your care team to help you put all the pieces together. Only they and you have all the available information.

We all want to know the answers to the big questions. And we want the answers now. Lacking answers, we tend to create stories or scenarios as we try to make sense of it all. We can tie ourselves in knots doing that.

Hard as it is, try to take it a step at a time, make a list of questions for the care team, and ASK who you can call to talk with about your concerns. In some practices that person is called the 'Cancer Navigator'. The last thing you want is to be given bad information from someone on the internet.

Best,
Jack

Thank you Jack,
I appreciate you taking the time to read and explain this.
Is a primary neoplasm cancer? And if there is a growth in the bladder wall, isn't that worse because it has now invaded the muscle or deeper tissue?
Their report said "cystoscopic correlation is necessary; normal upper tracts bilaterally."

I had a pelvic ct scan, no contrast, done on Christmas Eve which showed all normal organs. Then in January I had one incident of gross hematuria. My doctor said that was from a UTI or from the large doses of aspirin I took for a plantar plate tear. Then suddenly, two weeks ago, another incident of gross hematuria and then microscopic. I have not even seen the Urologist yet. It takes a long time to get in, but they did move me up to this Friday but only for consultation.

I would really like to think it isn't cancer. I live with my dogs and there is no back up for assistance. None of them can drive.

As I understand it, so far, you do NOT have a diagnosis of cancer, based on the CT information you posted. You are moving through the work-up process. The doc now has an area to look at during your (I assume) upcoming biopsy.

Something appears to have prevented the bladder from taking up contrast in an area - happens frequently - the radiologist thinks it looks like it maybe could perhaps be either a blood clot stuck to the bladder wall, or a growth that began in the bladder or even something else.

Waiting for answers is hard on the mind. Ask your doc if there is someone in his/her office that you can call to review the FULL reports and help you understand the vocabulary of the bladder. All of the words on a pathology or radiology report are important to understanding opinion offered.

Best,
Jack

CT scan with contrast and results received today.
"a 1.8 cm right-sided bladder filling defect or mural-based lesion seen on axial images. Primary bladder neoplasm must be considered. No obstruction or the right UVJ is identified."
" Impression: 1.8 cm bladder mural mass suggestive of either a primary neoplasm or an adherent clot".

Is all of that just another way of saying cancer??
I have googled and searched and I am very confused.
