Uro referral

2 months 2 weeks ago #55875 by joniz518
Hi, this is my first time posting. 1 month ago I had 2 episodes of brigt red blood in my urine with clots. I almost blew it off until my mom insisted I go to Urgent Care, which I did :). I am a 56 y.o. female with a history of tobacco use.
I am pretty helathy... I did have back surgery in february 2018 for spinal stenosis and herniated disc. Urgent Care did a dipstick urine which showed a large amount of blood....I did not have any imaging studies done at that time (labor day weekend} as they thought I passed a stone. I have not had any pain at all. I followed up with my PCP, and had another ua done, still at moderate amount of blood on dipstick. Sent to lab which showed same results... 1 week later had another ua done with same results.... lab work for metabolic panel was normal...CT scan for renal stone protocol was normal, showing no stones.. bladder was poory visualized due to no contract used. I did another UA on this past Monday and same results :( I have not had any visible hematuria in 4 weeks. My PCP is now referring me to a urologist for exam and cystoscpy, unfortanutaley I am not able to get in until Nov. 20th. I am just really concerned. I did have a hysterectomy 20 years ago due to CIS of cervix... thank you for this forum!!!
