After transurethral bladder resection-- -catheter or no catheter

No, a catheter is not always necessary. It depends on where the tumor is located and how deep the biopsy needs to go. Also, males often need a catheter more often than females. The answer is "it all depends." Your urologist is being honest with you. He will not know until the procedure is over.

My urologist said then after the procedure I would likely not need a Catheter.

However he said there may be possibilities that I would need a catheter after the procedure and would have to have it in for one week

. I'm a bit confused about that.

After the transurethral bladder resection isn't it always required to have a catheter?
