Jack,
I really appreciate you insight and recommendations for reading. The most discouraging words I read and hear in the media are “Not for small cell cancer”. As all of us with cancer, we hope and pray that the next type of treatment will be the one.

I am hoping you never have to get to the point of having to go through immunotherapy treatments. That you beat it before than.

Richard

Onevista,

While the immunotherapy drugs are new, and just now starting to leak results from real world studies, the trend is looking positive, to my view.

On this board, use the menu system to go to MENU, FORUMS, SEARCH and enter the keyword KEYTRUDA. You can then read past posts about Keytruda. Keytruda is one of the immuno-drugs. One of the most recent comments (from a member) reports of a positive result in a situation sounding similar to yours.

A couple of my posts are there also. I was concerned of over-hype based the limited studies released, and on what appear to be source bias. A lot happens in biotech in a short time. I *think* there are positive signs. It is a simple fact that real-world long term results take a long time to produce.

The January 2, 2018 industry report - outsider report - in 'FierecBiotech' and industry review newsletter, describes the current state of bio-drugs we see in bladder lung cancers. While the link below is NOT a science report, nor is it a technical report, it IS a review of the very recent COMPARISON, by recognized industry watchers, describing the state of a segment of the imuno-drug industry. I believe that reports such as this are pointing to positive results about to be released.

If it helps, I hope for positive results for your situation, and for mine, if/when i move to that next stage where immuno-drugs may be the next option.

Best
Jack

i have small cell bladder cancer and have gone through 6 cycles of chemo but it metastisized and became a stage 4 tumor that encapsulated my lymph nodes and vein in my lower abdomen. Went through 25 days of radiation and 6 more chemo treatments. Now the drs are going to start me on immunotherapy. Although not approved for small cell bladder cancer, has anyone gone through imm7nothery and had positive or any results?

Looking forward to additional options to beat this disease.
