2.7 cm tumor

First, take a deep breath. You will be fine. I was diagnosed over 9 years ago and am doing great with no sign of cancer, and you can do this also.

We are all scared stiff when we first get the diagnosis. I remember thinking "now I know what I will die of"....but that is NOT what happened. When caught early bladder cancer is very treatable.

Let's talk a little about what happens next. You will have a TURB (transurethral resection of the bladder) where, under general anesthesia, the urologist will remove the tumor and send it to the pathology lab for an exact diagnosis. Until you and the urologist have the results and this can take up to a week, no one can be sure exactly what is going on. IF it is malignant, the path report will also tell you whether it is low grade (slow growing) or high grade (rapidly dividing) and, if it is malignant, whether or not it has grown beyond the bladder lining. These facts will determine the type of treatment your urologist will recommend. In any event, there are very effective treatments available.

Welcome, Styler. We are simply sorry for the reason to be here. 1st, stop and take that deep breath and I add take one day at a time.

You really won't anything until the TURB surgery and pathology. As remote as it sounds it might not even a tumor. And, yes, the waiting is the worst part of this. Focus on the fact you are on the way to handling whatever this is. Keep posting and as you get more information let us know what the reports are and someone that has "been there and done that" will be around. As my wife who is a retired RN would say, everything else is simply conjecture!
