Dan, I was so sorry to read about your father. You know that you did all that you could do for him,

I hate this disease so much.

I just wanted to give an update. My dad passed away last week. The past two months were a very difficult and painful time for him. He was in his 2nd round of CIS/GEM chemo when he developed sepsis. He had two nephrostomy tubes one of which had become blocked which I suspect led to his infections. He was taken to the ER for treatment where they did a CT scan and found his cancer has metastasized to his lungs and lymph nodes. We decided to place him into hospice and within a couple of days he passed away.

He is in a better place now and his suffering has stopped. His deteriorated rapidly over the past two months and so did the quality of his life. Our family knew his battle was going to be tough on him but we didn't expect his journey to end so quickly.

Our prayers and thoughts are with those that are currently dealing with bladder cancer.

While I do not know Dr. Danesmand personally, he has an excellent reputation. My urologist trained under him. Your father is in very good hands.

We met with Dr. Daneshmand at USC this morning. His recommendation is 3 months chemo 2-drugs and then surgery for removal of prostate/bladder and I assume lymphnodes. He referred him to his local oncologist for chemo and then if all goes as planned he will be back at USC for surgery. So it sounds like a long journey ahead but we feel like he is in good hands with Dr. Daneshmand.
