Probably have bladder cancer

I followed the same path as you are currently on. My first test was a CT scan, followed up with a TURB within a week. I also had a large 'ugly' thing removed and I'm still here, still have my own bladder, and I'm feeling fine.

Hang in there. The waiting for the results is the hardest part. Once you know what you're dealing with and you have a treatment plan in place, things will get much better. You are on the right path, so please keep us posted on your progress.

Take care of you and try to relax,
Lilliang

As George said I wonder why a cystoscope wasn't done but, sounds like the CT Scan was pretty conclusive of something being there. The TURB was needed anyway so yes, I believe you saved some time and anguish waiting. The good news is whatever they find you are on your way to solving it!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I had the TURB done today, I am in very little pai and have not taken so much as an aspirin for pain.

The Doc said "it was big and ugly", will get the pathology report in about two weeks.

George, thanks for coming in.

My urologist said that with the results of the CT we should just skip the cysts copy and do a TURB,, get a pathology report and save some time.. Saving time works for me.

I wonder why a cystoscope is not the first thing that a Dr would do?
It is very conclusive and quicker than a scan. But you will be getting one when you have the TURB so maybe I am just talking jibberish.
Take a nice deep breath and Try(really try) to find other things to occupy your mind.
But remember this...... we have been where you are..... and we're still here

Welcome to the group you really don't want to join! And maybe you won't have to. Until you have a TURB and get the results from a pathologist you reall don't know what you are facing. And remember that most patients do not require a cystectomy. There are good treatments for bladder cancer!

You are in an excellent place for treatment. The urology department at USC is one of the best in the country and UCLA also is a possibility.

You are doing all the right things.
