Well I just got "the call" and I do in fact have bladder cancer... I have an appointment to meet with another urologist, Dr. Chang at Beth Israel in Boston, who specializes in partial/full bladder removal and reconstruction. The urologist that did my TURBT remains optimistic that the surgery could be minimally invasive but I will know more Feb. 1st. Has anyone here had their bladder rebuilt? What kind of recovery time am I looking at?

Waiting is not easy for it seems to take forever but, I sincerely hope the lesions are benign. Be pullin' for ya. Take Care, Herb

Evan,

Welcome back. From experience, I figure you are feeling better now - now that treatment is underway and you are working towards resolution.

There is nothing worse (for me) than waiting. I want to do something active. But it takes time. Soon yoou will have the biopsy report and a much better idea of the path ahead.

Stay upbeat and let us know what you hear.

Best
Jack

Well, I made it! Procedure was a success and I feel remarkably well considering... The urologist said it took about an hour and one of the lesions was not what he was expecting. He said it was like a hard, round marble, not like the typical wavy kind they typically find. Not sure if that's good or bad but we now wait for results of the pathology.

Hi Herb Here!
Hope everything comes out (hummm) well; still remember well when my results came back it --- it was frightening journey, some painful adjustments here and there --- but all adjustments meant I was still around to bug my wife, sons and grad-children. I love continuing to continue. Take Care, Hang in there!

Thank you both for your response. I'm heading in for the removal in 2 hrs. Regardless of the outcome, I'm happy to know there is plenty of support out there!
