I am a neo man myself.
It has been 8 years since I had nerve sparing Neo installation.
The Bladder removal surgery is a rather big surgery. The neo bladder is an operation that MUST be performed by a surgeon that has done Many Many Many of these.
It is a lengthy procedure that requires skill and attention to infection.

I am one of the people that has had a positive outcome. Although I also have had some side effects that require attention. The most notable is incontinence. At first it was all the time, but I learned how to manage it during the day. But even now, 8 years out, I still have night time issues.

But I feel this is a small price to pay.

I still do everything I did before (ski and drive my racecar)

But with every procedure there are annoyences and imperfections. Your Dr will give you the issues with each. What is right for me, may not be for you.

Best of luck and feel free to ask anything here. And you can vent here if you want too

George

Roger,

There are a bunch of people on here who have neobladders and other urinary diversions and frequently there are discussions about the options, and adjusting to the changes.

At this point I am still trying to keep my bladder, hoping that we can get the CIS to stop reoccurring soon after BCG temporarily banishes it. I have looked ahead, hoping to not go there, but would select neobladder as my choice, if it was among the possible options.

You are in a good place to meet others who have gone down that road.

Best
Jack

Thanks Jack as it is my first time and so happy to see you there.
Mine is invasive.
Will be going for PET Scan and CT Scan and will let you know.
I did have the TURBT where they did a biopsy and the pathology did say cancer and the scan will tell us more.
Did you think about Cystoscopy with neo bladder as I an thinking about that

Roger,

Are they trying to confirm bladder cancer, or is it a search for possible extension ?

Waiting for results can be nerve-racking. Hang in there. You are with a group that has been there.

Best
