Jeff, it depends on how close to the tennis court the bathroom is!!!
Seriously, I doubt that you would be very comfortable playing tennis! You will probably have urgency and be pee-ing a lot.

Had an appointment with the urologist today. We went over the findings of the surgery. I had 1 large tumor and 2 smaller satellite tumors removed. All of it was superficial, so that's good news. One of the tumors was high-grade and 2 were low-grade. It was described as T1 disease. The main tumor was large, but is had a small base.

Because of the high-grade findings in 1 or the three areas, I will receive the standard 6 installations of BCG, followed by another cystoscopy.

I'm happy to have found this nice group of people. The information I have found here is valuable.

For the BCG patients or former patients, are you able to do anything physical later on the same day as your weekly treatment? For example, would it possible to exercise or play tennis at night if you received BCG earlier that day?

Best, Jeff

Thanks for the replies. I am only 45, so this did come as somewhat of a surprise. I smoked for about 4 years back in my late teens, so who knows...I don't think about the cause, I prefer to think about moving forward.

Hi Rebecca!

This waiting business is the pits! Soon you will have at least some of the answers that you need when you find out the results of your TURB/biopsy/path report.

As to whether you need a second opinion or not, the first thing to do is to get the first opinion. If everything seems clear and straight forward to you, if the diagnosis isn't complicated, if you and the urologist seem able to discuss the situation and you feel comfortable with him and the treatment plan seems appropriate for the diagnosis, probably not.

If you do not feel comfortable with the situation, if the diagnosis is complicated and/or several different options are presented for treatment, or if the tumor has grown beyond the bladder lining, yes a second opinion is definitely in order.

Thinking of you

I also just had my first TURBT and I am anxiously awaiting my follow-up appointment this coming Friday. I am also wondering about getting a second opinion.

Best wishes to you.
