Thank you all for listening. I don't have anyone else to talk to and it's good to know that you all will listen.

Henri, Not what you wanted to hear but I am glad you are at Anderson they will have many more options than most other places. We as a group know bladder cancer but we are here for you as you are one of ours now.. Keep us updated we may not have a lot of practical advice but we sure can listen and care.

Thank you Catherine and Lillian for the encouraging support.

I guess the reason for the Stage 4 diagnosis is that from the CT Scan, there are spots in lymph nodes, a nodule on my breast and also a spot on my lung. So, since it appears to have spread to other organs, they said I was Stage 4.

I am so confused because nothing has ever shown up in any annual reports and pap smears.

I'm in a better from of mind today..maybe. I will try to think positive during the next two weeks until I can make the appointment with the gynecological team on October 30.

Thank you all so much.
Henri

Henri, I'm so sorry to read your latest post. I'm also surprised that they said it is stage 4 without a pathology report, but even if it is - there is always hope. It's early in the process, so try to remain positive (I know that's much easier said than done).

Please take care of you, keep us posted, and vent all you want or need to.

Hugs,
Lily

Henri... YES, there is hope, even at stage 4. It may not seem like it at this point after just getting this news. Your diagnosis still has to be confirmed with the pathology, and then they will know how best to go after it.

New treatments are being developed each year that offer more hope than last year. You are at MD Anderson who is at the forefront of treatment and research. I wish I could offer more comforting words at this point, but know I am sending you warmest {{{{{hugs}}}}}.

Please never apologize for venting. That is a normal part of coping with any cancer diagnosis. This is the place to say the things you can't say to anyone else, even family. We understand... we've been there in some way too.

Best wishes... Catherine

Thank you Catherine,
I've never even thought I would be in this situation. I am 72 years old. I don't want to even think about going through Chemo. Since I am at Stage IV, it scares me to death to think that I am so close to the end. I just can't stop crying. If there any hope at Stage IV? I know I have to get my mind fixed to think about facing this, but so far, I don't know how to do it. I'm not afraid of dying. I'm just afraid of facing the pain.

How could this happen when I've been so faithful about regular checkups? Nothing has ever been out of whack. I don't even know what kind of cancer I have, and they are already saying it is Stage IV. That sounds like a death sentence to me.

I'm sorry for venting. I just have to say these things to someone. Thank you for listening.
Henri
