Henri - your call on that but since you are going to one of the premier institutions in the world on bladder cancer, you are probably well advised to just let them take care of you, period. In my case, I got a second opinion from Memorial Sloan Kettering, they basically affirmed strongly that the care I was receiving from my urologist in New Jersey proximate to where I live was excellent, so I remained with him (but I sent pathology and other reports to them anyway so they can opine); but if I ever need a cystectomy, I am going to have that done at Sloan Kettering.

Again, good luck to you, and keep us posted on your progress!

T1 high grade transcell diagnosed 8/14/2015
TURBT 8/21/2015, removed tumor (17mmX14mmX11mm)
Repeat TURBT performed 9/25/2015
Pathology Report: no residual cancer detected
BCG planned starting in October

Thank you for your encouraging words. I have only seen a urologist here in Granbury, TX and he did the surgery for the kidney blockage and found the "tumor". He has referred me to a urologist specialist at the USMD Prostate Cancer Center and made an appointment for Friday for me. I am not going to that appointment.

I talked with MD Anderson this morning and I am in their system and they are reserving an appointment for me. As soon as I get the pathology report from the urologist in the morning, I am to call my contact person at MD Anderson to get the appointment set up so that we can get the ball rolling.

I know I am going to get a lot of support here and will be able to ask questions and get clarification from all of you. And I appreciate that so much.

Thank you so much.

Hi
Thanks for being here and "I'm Sorry you have to be here"

Everyone here is pulling for you and now is indeed the time to get to that Bc specialist .... MD Anderson. They have "Been there-Done That" so many times that they know every scenerio you can come upon, they can handle It!

Your prostate Dr.is probably a great Dr. But now you need a specailist that has seen so many bladder issues that he is more of an assembly line worker than an artist.

Best of luck and we are all in this together now!

Thank you, Catherine.
I have talked with MD Anderson this morning, so I am in their system and I have a contact person there for my first appointment. As soon as I receive the pathology report (should be in the morning (Tuesday)), I will call them and get the process started.

I believe I'm on the right path.

Hi Henri... Sorry I'm late in replying but I've been away from the forum for a few months.

One very important thing I learned here is that you have to be your own best advocate. You've already got a great start on that by choosing MD Anderson. I hope you hear from them very soon.

Love your hat!!!

Best wishes... Catherine

Thank you MHY. I think I am on the right track now, thanks to this site. I feel more comfortable about my decision, no matter what the pathology report shows next Tuesday. It's so good to know there are people here that I can discuss this with that have down the same path and know how I am feeling. Thank you all so much.
