Removal of the Bladder

3 years 4 months ago #49061 by Alan
Congrats! I am with Sara Anne and George on 3 month checkups as standard protocol-at least for a year (normally suggestion is 3 months for 2 years, 6 months for 2 more then annually). Obviously to catch anything missed or different but, it is also peace of mind and most insurances are on board with this.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

Congratulations on the successful surgery.
But I am with Sara Ann on this one.
At this stage I would ask for three month checkups and do that for a year or so.
This bc is a very tricky bastard and it moves VERY quickly and only one badass cell can find a home and start again.
Here"s to a Full and complete recovery and No Cancer in your future.

Congratulations! It is wonderful that it all went so well. However, personally, I would want to have checkups. Bladder cancer is known to be a sneaky creature and I would want to continue to be sure that I was all clear!

I was diagnosed on February 27 2015 that I had Bladder Cancer.I had my badder, prostate lumplodes out and I only was born with one Kidney. Their was just a small pea of a kidney not attached to anything .On July 24th I had my surgery at UC Davis Sacramento I was in the hospital from July 24th to Wed July 29th and went home. I had them do the IC and I made the right choice for me. No problems so far for me.I get my staples out Tuesday Aug 4th.A new beginning with my new friend. the best part is just empty the bag.Yesterday I went to my doctors office at UC Davis Medial Center in Sacramento,Calif.and they removed the staples and I got my pathology results from Doctor Yaps medial team in Urologie that I'm CANCER FREE They saved my Life .I don't have to go back for six month for my check up.
