When I started chemo including cisplatin, I had a -40% in the right ear and -60% in the left from ear infections as a child. My hearing remained stable during and in the ten years since finishing chemo. My regime included three different chemo drugs so of course I may not have gotten the same dosage as you will. If you are worried I would talk to your Oncologist about it and ask if there is someway to check your hearing as you go through treatment. I hope this helps and remember we are here and to keep us updated as you go along.

Hi I am newly dx'ed with high grade aggressive bladder cancer. I will begin chemo tomorrow and was wondering about hearing loss as a result of cisplatin? Has anyone had a large hearing loss do to cisplatin?
