Thank Sara Anne: Will do. Guess I'll have to read more fine print than I'm used to in order to find the correct ones. Appreciate the advice once again! Jay

Most travel insurance policies are trip-specific....you buy them for each trip and the price is based on the price of the trip. All of the ones that I have used
have a provision that IF YOU BUY THE POLICY WITHIN 10 DAYS OF PAYING THE INITIAL DEPOSIT on the trip, pre-existing conditions are covered.

Google "travel insurance" and there are lots of sites and reviews. I don't want to mention any companies here, because we need to be so careful of appearing to endorse ANYTHING!!

PS I am off to Brazil in mid-February...travel insurance in hand!

I'm reading some posts about travel insurance. Luckily I had an annual Travel Guard insurance policy which covered me last year when my bladder cancer came about but now renewing it, any previous conditions are not covered for the first 6 months of every year. Well, after my bladder I still have to deal with prostate surgery, but am being told maybe travel again is possible in October? Can anyone suggest a travel insurance company that deals with pre-existing medical conditions? We love to travel, but scared now! Thanks, Jay
