Unfortunately, Jeff, you are discovering the nasty little secret of so-called "superficial" bladder cancer. It comes back. Often it does come back sooner, but your case is not unusual. Which is why it is SO important to keep up with those checkups! The good news is that these can be removed and it is possible for you to go a long time again without recurrence.

Whatever changes in the bladder lining that caused the initial tumors to form are still there so it is always possible for it to come back.

Wishing you the best of luck

Sara Anne

I had my last rumors removed 12/22/08 and have been cancer free until 12/17/14. Went in for my yearly check and a tumor was found. Is it normal to go this long and have a reoccurance after this much time has elapsed. Just a little baffled.
