Not a question, but throwing a hissy fit, that this world wide shortage was permitted. DH is overdue...& we wait...& wait...

Merck (the Company that makes BCG) is releasing product as it becomes available. There is a shortage, but it is available intermittently . They're taking orders and filling them in the order received based on product availability. I would keep checking with you Dr. every few days or ask them if there's a list they're keeping of patients to be notified when drug is available. Like Alan mentioned many of us have experienced delayed treatments for one reason or another and are doing well. Make sure you keep your follow up cysto appointments so any problems will be caught early.

Most of us at some time have had to miss one or more installations of BCG so you are not alone. 4 treatments may be enough to cause a response of your immune system anyway (none of us are doctors). At the same time all will encourage you to finish when the shortage has ended.
DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I had a large,high grade tumor (5cm) removed, had an infection develop after two treatments of BCG, then two more treatments after 10 days and now back ordered BCG again . I am frightened that the fast growing tumor will reoccur. Can you put my mind at ease? Thanks.
