Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm sure that news was quite unsettling to you on top of whatever else is going on with your health that was the reason for the scan.

The first thing that will need to happen with the urologist is to get the mass out of there. That will be done via a TURBT (trans urethral resection of bladder tumor) which is an outpatient procedure under anesthesia. Then it will be sent to the pathologist who will determine if it is cancer, what type/grade, etc. Not all bladder masses are cancerous, but in reality, many are. That will determine the next steps as to what treatment is appropriate.

I know that is scary to hear BUT if it is bladder cancer, it is very treatable. We are all here to attest to that. Please ask any other questions you have at this point. I'm sorry you are now dealing with this in addition to other health concerns. I am glad you found our forum as a place to ask questions and get information.

Best wishes... Catherine

I was having a ct scan for something totally unrelated and received a phone call from the nurse at the VA in Ann Arbor Mi saying they bound a mass 3cm x and i dont remember what it was and she said they were setting up a exam with a urologist.
my question is I have never had any symptoms of any bleeding in the urine etc.
What should I expect from this point forward.

Thanks for any advice from anyone out there
