Being Terrified is something many of us can relate to however, am 77 years old went through all the pre-attempts to control cancer but finally there were no more magic bullets left --- I said goodbye to my bladder and prostate (also very cancerous) and that was 6 years ago. There were many questions I had how to live with 'the bag' and this group helped me through them. I was terrified, especially since I lost my Dad and Brother to cancer when they were in their 50's however, here ole Herb is 'continuing to continue'. I get miffed at myself that I do not get on this site more often because I am very grateful for all the help and support I received here --- keep asking questions, any questions for none are silly or embarrassing --- and the feelings can at times seem overwhelming but I promise you they will pass --- take care and I hope all goes well for you.

Age 72 had radical 9/11/10 have conduit everything is fine, grateful to be a cancer survivor. Lost Dad and Brother to Cancer both in their 50's.

Hi. I am terried also. I hava a daughter in college and so is my son. I think once the surgery is done and the recovery is over you will be fine. You are young and that is a plus in your column. God bless you and your family.

Great positive thoughts, and good reasons to be a survivor. You're in the right place to share anything as you enter this bladder adventure. Nobody knows how many people will be inspired by your journey. We'll start by wishing your all the best, and will be looking for your reports soon.

Tin Man
I am also a bladderless survivor. I was 53 when I received the same diagnosis as you have just received.
It is a BIG deal! But with a skilled surgeon and a positive recovery, you will dance at your daughters wedding.
I will dance at mine this October.
This is my 6 year anniversary of being cancer free.
I felt the same way when I got my diagnosis. Within 3 months of my diagnosis I had 2 TURB surgeries and the Radical Cystectomy.
After a few months of recovery, I continued my life as an automobile dealer with lots of pressure. And within a short time I resumed playing golf, skiing, and sports car racing. I have made a few changes in my life but that is my new normal.
You have friends here that have been through this and are living great lives.
You will be one of us soon.

It is big surgery and recovery. But you will get through it.
Keep us as your sounding board.

George
