Glad ABLCS is giving you some insight. And getting the 2nd opinion is a great idea. But little me is a bit confused as to why you are seeing so many different people? My expert Urologist, one person, takes care of everything. Of course, your initial post sounded as if you were not totally satisfied with that Urologist.

A big thank you to all that have replied. I am still somewhat unfocused but will see another urologist on Thrusday and an oncologist on Friday.
So glad you are there.

Welcome to the site. I also live in central Fl. I was Dx'd 7 years ago, and over the course of two years, found my way to Moffitt in Tampa. I know everyone has their own opinion , but I have been very pleased with Moffitt. Dr Sexton is my doctor, but they have a large oncology/uro department.
If you are looking for out of state there are many top notch doctors and hospitals.
I am sure someone will post the names and doctors across the country, but so far I am happy with Moffitt.

You will find great support and information here

Good luck

Marcia,

From using the tool on the home page that rbmc is referring to, it looks like Moffitt in Tampa and Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville are your best bets for a 2nd opinion. Best wishes.

Welcome to the club. Sorry your recent activities with BC seem to be so negative. But, seems like you're doing the right things, especially in getting a 2nd opinion, and seeking more answers (and test) to further identify the situation. Can't help with where or how for your location, but hope you find a good expert soon. This site does list some available specialists, did you see it? Some others may be able to jump in with ideas. Good luck.

I am new to the forum and would appreciate any responses or help. I am a 66 year old female in Central Florida. In 9/13 I had two TUR's and completed the round of 6BCG's at the end of November. Apparently, the treatments did not work and the January cystoscopy showed 5 to 7 tumor sites. My current urologist says this is too aggressive but did not perform a CT to see if it had spread. I have an appointment for a second opinion/exam with another urologist and an appointment with an oncologist. Yet, I feel like I should start searching for a surgeon to prepare for s r/c if it is, in fact, this aggressive. Is there anyone with a similar situation and/or any knowledge or surgeons in Central Florida. Unfortunately, the urologist was of little help here too.

Thank you for all the posts I have read. I am now reading daily and it helps.
