Pre cystoscopy nerves!

Ok, had cysto yesterday, and looking good! Urologist stated that although he had found that my bladder was not 'normal' had found no visible tumours, but had taken some biopsies of inflamed areas. Initial prognosis painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis, which he said does indeed mimic BC symptoms, and in itself was a generally a life long pretty unpleasant condition to deal with, but I can cope with that, because I have to! He has had some patients diagnosed with IC without cystoscopy who have come to him and he has discovered BC, so was glad that Dr. had referred me.

They do have to keep doing checks, as he said long term bladder irritation can lead to BC on occasion. Path results are going to take ages, up to 8 weeks!!! Nurses said though that if anything unusual found would be told much sooner. Of course niggling little doubt in back of mind until results come back, but nurses reassured me that my urologist does over 400 cystos a year, and with twenty years experience they know what they are looking for and what looks suspicious, so that's a relief.

So hopefully that's the end of that!!!

It is absolutely NORMAL to have NERVES!
Now that that is out of the way. Don't worry yourself to a negative diagnosis.

Be a little positive, and think through it. You cannot change the diagnosis. What it is..... It is. So Think the best, prepare for the worst.

We have had any number of people here with angst in their post...... ready for a cancer death sentence. Then we throw them out after they panicked for nothing.
I sincerely hope you are one of those. We will kindly show you the door, shake your hand, and wish we were you.

But, If you do have BC...... You are talking to the right people. And, as you can see, we are still here and you will be too. Early diagnosis, and aggressive treatment are going to see you through it.

But! I hope to be the one to give you the boot! Ha! Ha!
