Hello and welcome to the forum... Anytime a doctor uses the word "cancer" in any context, we can't help but be scared and start to panic. My doctor used the word "atypical" cells when she was testing me for some blood in my urine before any other lab work came back. I think that is what the nurse was trying to convey to you, and that there are other reasons for abnormal cells that are not cancer. But after the conversation with the doc, it would be hard to back up from there and get that out of your head. Believe me, we all understand that feeling.
As far as the internet, it is sometimes our best friend AND our worst enemy when looking at medical information. It does tend to make imaginations run wild. Been there, done that!
If, and this is a BIG if, you were to have a form of bladder cancer, you should know that it is very treatable especially when caught early. But you are NOT there yet, so try to take a deep breath and tell yourself not to panic until you get the cystoscopy done and know what you are, and are not, dealing with as far as your bladder. (I know, soooo much easier said than done.)
Meanwhile, if you have any other questions, please post them. We are a community here as much for moral support as for information... sometimes more so.
