Hi, Ric - Maryland Mike here - I'm a little slow in seeing your post and responding, but I'd like to say that I, too, passed tissue (and blood) during my BCG treatment regimen, and it doesn't seem to be that uncommon - in fact, my uro said it was a sign the BCG was causing a positive effect on my bladder. I kept a "log" in the "Superficial (Non-invasive)..." forum, in the "Newbie - I'm checkin' in" thread. There I describe my reactions to the six treatments.

Cheers, and stay positive - this stuff is quite beatable!

Ric132, the frequency for me also lasted several hours. At times it would seem as if I just finished and was on my way back to the bathroom. I never had large pieces of what looked like skin but would frequently have small pieces discharged.

Sounds pretty normal from my experince but, that was 4+ years ago. If you have any concerns I would certainly call the doc and at least mention prior to the next instillation. Yes, the urgency for me was about a day to where I had about 15 seconds to find the toilet so I didn't travel far for a day. that will pass. All I can add is most of us have friends taking chemo and this is defintely easier than that!

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

I did have BCG...the six initial and then what seemed like interminable maintenance treatments. I suspect that what you experienced is just a result of the irritation that the BCG sets up. And sometimes, for several hours after a treatment, I almost just sat there on the pot with a book! In a few hours this should pass.
If it doesn't, and you are worried, do call your urologist's office.

Hi Ric132,

I haven't had BGC yet but this sounds like it might be something like scar tissue coming loose. Hang on and one of the others will chime in shortly.
