Thanks Anita and Mark. I'm very bad about Googling myself (it's how I found this forum). I hate that appointments aren't immediate. Two weeks of worry is insane to me. Hope it turns out to be nothing. But if not, I will be sure to come here - I loved your group and it's why I posted here and only here for insight.

This just shows how the Inter-Net can be as misleading, as it is helpful at times.

It is best not to blindly search for a reason of a symptom. There will always be something on the Inter-Net that can be misleading or sometimes flat out wrong.

First seek help from your doctor.

Then ask them the questions about your well-being.

Then repeat back to them what you think they meant by what was said.

This way they know you understand correctly what they are trying to tell you.

THEN, you can start to Google.

Look for an accredited site, or one that is well known. (Or ask your doctor.)

Be careful when reading forums. Every case is slightly different. Just because it sounds like they have the same symptoms, doesn't mean that there are not other very important pieces to the puzzle that may have been left out.

Once you find a safe and reliable site, give them as accurate information as possible so that they can help you better.

And most important. Go at it calmly and collectively. Read everything carefully, make sure you understand how this information pertains to you and your situation.

Best of luck on your appointment with the Urologist. Hopefully they will get to the bottom of this for you.

We are here if you need us.

Tiffany,

Waiting is the hard part of anything unknown. Like Sara Ann said, take a deep breath and try to enjoy a little more summertime fun. I'm glad you have an appointment with a urologist.

Thank you Sara! I have been so upset because of that blog I linked to - she says infection positive and urine culture negative = possible cancer. I'm just nervous and I know I won't know for sure for 2 more week. Just had to reach out to people who know more.

First, CALM DOWN AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH! And, even IF it is cancer, two weeks won't matter. Two months would.

An infection could explain all your symptoms; usually bladder cancer does not manifest itself as an infection. You are doing absolutely the right thing in making an appointment with a urologist. They are the ones to help you with a treatment-resistant infection.

Don't worry about anything else right now....it is premature. Once you have seen the urologist and have a definitive diagnosis, you will know what to worry about

Best of luck to you.
