Diagnosed, removed, waiting on biopsy report

I'm calling the doctor in a few minutes. What is worrying Toby is 'what if the bleeding does not stop'. Mike you say it will. But when do they draw the line? Looks like cancer can be growing and progressing while waiting on the blood to stop.

Like Mike said, the blood will stop and they will be able to start the BCG. The 2nd TURBT is deeper, into the muscle so it takes a lot longer to heal...they go deep to see if the cancer has gotten into the muscle. I know I was a lot sorer from it than the first one.

My doctor let me wait an extra two months before doing the 2nd round of BCG so I could go fishing...so I think you are O.K. The best thing is to talk to your doctor about your concerns so he can tell you what is normal and what you should expect. I don't know how it is with your doctor but I switched doctors to get one that I could talk to instead of just being told when the next appointment was.

The blood will stop. You need to talk to your doctor.

Still having blood at the end of flow. If I have blood in the urine I know they will not do the BCG. However - what happens if the blood doesn't stop? What do they do to stop blood long enough to get treatments started. I know it is possible the blood won't stop - right???????

When I am doing the BCG treatments and after the Cysto's, I get the pain after urinating also...for me it usally last a few days, longer for the TURBTS. Like you, I don't have the pain before or during, but it starts after and builds for 10-15 secounds and then fades suddenly....I hate it and it really makes me dread the trips to the bathroom. Like others have said, the anti-spasm meds help the best but until the bladder has healed up the pain stays.

As to how BC affects us...it's a pain in the butt, BCG and then the Kodak moments. But it becomes "normal" and not a big deal, hard to believe. More like annoyance that you have to schedule all this time to keep on top of it. Remember, as much as it stinks having to go through all this...it beats the alternative!!

Since I was diagnosed a year ago, two people I know were diagnosed with liver cancer and kidney cancer. One is already dead, the other has less than six months to go....bladder cancer isn't so bad when you look at the big picture.
