The Isle of Man may be a small island but we try to cram as much into it as possible. Defenitely a mecca for motor heads with the TT, Manx Grand prix and then there is the four wheel racing, rally cross, off road 4x4 and vintage rallys.
But if your not into motor sport we have great fishing , cycling and some of the best hiking around.
TT is a crazy time on the island with 10s of thousands coming from all over the world to watch some of the greatest ever motor cyclists race on our mountain road circuit.

Manxman, That is one beautiful town you have there!

Someday I am going to travel over there. My brother has been to all those places, and keeps asking if I want to come along. I'm going to have to say yes one of these times.

George & Warren, If you ever come this way again, let me know so we can have coffee together. Your right the winters can be hard, but not this year. The summers are really humid and yes our state bird is the mosquito.

You can't see Russia from my house, but you are dang near in Canada!

George, as I remember it...Yoopers to the north, and Trolls to the south!!!:) Any how you can't beat getting some drive through pasties in Escanaba. But the best pasties come from the iron range!

Mark, I grew up in the Twin Cities, use to listen to the Cannon Mess on CCO...sometimes I still try to tune in 830!! I use to love going up to Duluth, go to the zoo, play on the Viking ship, see the ore ships, all that good stuff!! Great place, I miss the winters....but you can keep the summer muggies and the mosquitoes!!!!

I never looked at your profile page (Man, that was dumb) but I had a hankerin you were from the Up in Mich. When I lived in Michigan the Yoopers always referred to anything north of Flint as "Up North"
Been to Deluth a few times on my way to the Quedico in Canada to fish. I Love the road sign on the road that says: Atikoken--- 175km
End of Earth-- 130km

Just seems funny to me.

You live in a Great Place. But the winters must be Brutal and nary a ski area in sight.

The isle of Man is kind of a Mecca for Motorcyclists. The TT must be a wild time for your hometown. I was a great fan of "Mike the Bike" back in the day. He was one of a few that made the transition to 4 wheels and Formula 1. Each year I watch the TT on The SPEED channel and it still amazes me that this can go on. I am sure the lawyers would have a field day of this was in the States.
Glad to have you here Manxman. You are in with a great group of Survivors who won't let cancer get them down.
