Good morning, Mel... I read your post in JD's thread that you had a pretty rough time with your surgery. I hope you are feeling better today and the spasms have stopped.

I hope you get good news when your path report comes back. And, ask for a copy. Doctors often don't give you one unless you remind them. I always get copies of any test or lab work just for my own file.

Best wishes... Catherine

Staying positive is the most important thing. If you give up on yourself others will surely follow.

It sounds as if you are in capable hands. The waiting is the worst part for all of us. As much as I wish I could I can't change that. I found that coming on the site and reading threw everyone's stories helps me out alot.

Feel free to post answers, or just a kind word to others that are posting. It really helps to hear some kind of response from others. Even if it's just a little sympathy or understanding of their situation.

It sounds as if they will be using cystoscopy to go in and remove the tumor. This is called a TURBS: transurethral resection of the bladder. It is the most common way to remove tumors.

Hang in there, were all in this together. :)

I am not sure if I am having TURBS? She just said it needed removed and sent to pathology. She said she would biopsy it and I told her if I am under I want it completely removed and she said well that's what I mean. I am going in tomorrow actually to have a longer talk with her but she treats BC. She said she has a patient that is only 27 that she is treating also. She is with UANT! I plan on seeing an uro/oncologist for a second opinion. All I know is I am scared right now but trying to stay positive.

Mellycat,

I lost my Father to BC when he was in his mid fifties. Then 20 years later I was diagnosed.

I'm glad you caught your's early enough (way to young).

Are you having a TURBS done on the 21st? And has your urologist done many of these before.

Mellycat,

Dr. Ganesh Raj at UT Southwest Medical Center is a great urologist and great surgeon. I would not hesitate to have him treat me if I had bladder cancer. My Dad saw him after a different doctor did his bladder cancer surgery and he had complications. My family thinks the world of Dr. Raj.
