Pat - I was afraid you would give me that answer - I'll see if I can't get her to post here now that I've asked the question. Thanks, dear. Have a great day!

Thank you so much Melodie and Pat for your help and info. We surely will have to go out of WV for the Indy procedure but his urologist here can do the other procedure. All the doctors here that did anything different have left WV and I suppose it might be due to insurance. Thanks again, Diane

Hey Melodie,
Lordy get out of W.Va for starters...can they do that with their insurance? I would recommend Johns Hopkins in Baltimore
or Vanderbilt in Nashville which has at least 8 great surgeons..
I guess i need to know if they can go out of state as there just are no rankings for hospitals or urologists in W.Va.........sorry
pat

OK gang...a gal contacted me after visiting my website...she is looking for info. for her spouse who recently had treatment for prostrate cancer...I guess now there is so much scar tissue the doc is recommending an illeal, but they have an interest in the Indy pouch...anyway, they reside in Danville, W. VA...about 30 miles out of Charlston, W. VA. Can anyone provide some good doctor recommendations for that area? Pat, maybe you have some suggestions? Response appreciated. Thanks.

Diane's comments:
"I ran across your info about your Indiana Pouch. My husband had prostate cancer and the procedures they did and the radiation he took caused scar tissue to build up in his urethra. He has been to several specialist and no one can reconstruct it, so we are researching other alternatives. His urologist recommends the conduit like Rick has, but I really would like to be able to at least research farther. I don't know how to find doctors and hospitals that do this surgery and thought maybe you could help with this so I can have my info ready to show the urologist here."
