The posts you receive may seem like a broken record. "AGAIN with the second opinion!" you might say.
Yes! Again with the second opinion! We Will say.

A lot of us listened to what Pat said, and we are here to tell you to follow her advice. Some of us did not follow her advice.... and we wished we had.

You are going to find a great deal of support and advice and information from the good people on this site. They gladly give their support. We are here to help with the physical and emotional side effects of this disease.

You are in our prayers.

George

whatever puzzle he comes back with get a second opinion from another uro and another pathologist. Get copies of CT scans, blood work, and have slides either packed up and sent out to someone like Johns Hopkins or take directly to your second opinion doctor.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the advice and concern.

Quick update, Sis had a CT scan last night, came back with a spot on the breast, which could mean nothing, and one lymph node.

Doc said he will be able to put the whole puzzle together after pathology report comes back, should be tomorrow.

Thank you all again, I am aure I will have more questions.

you do not need to go to BCAN for this information..its right here on the home page.......check on newly diagnosed and follow the links or continue down the page and find what you're looking for.

The Bladder Cancer Awareness Network has a booklet on bladder cancer that can be ordered or downloaded from their web site (www.bcan.org). This would probably be a good introduction to bc and its treatment.

i'm a little late getting in here, but i would definatel set up an appointment for a second opinion right now with Memorial Sloan who deal with bladder cancer on a daily basis. I wouldn't be surprised if your pathology was even sent to them. Once you get your pathology report call pathology and have them pack up the slides for transport to MSK if not already there and get copies of your Ct scan, or any other tests done.
My recommendations would be Dr. Bernard Bochner, Dr. Harry Herr, Dr. Machele Donat
Dr. Bochner..very personable..will take lots of time with you
www.mskcc.org/prg/prg/bios/616.cfm
Dr. Herr..a man of few words but a billiant surgeon
www.mskcc.org/prg/prg/bios/54.cfm
Dr. Donat..very good with females
www.mskcc.org/prg/prg/bios/335.cfm
Hope all goes well for you but you really must seek out a specialist that deals with this on a daily basis.
