Insurance company Vs. person who answers phones! Melodie email your doctor and tell him person who answers phones won't get you in! Are they out of town?

Julie,

I'm doing very well...head is still somewhat fuzzy from all the drugs but output from urinary and colon is good and I feel I am healing well. I grow tired of dragging a Foley bag around with me but I didn't get a leg bag when I left the hospital. But the end is in sight...I can remove the bag one week from today and hopefully go back to a normal cathing process.

Apparently my insurance company thinks I should be back to work by 12/10 but that may be a bit soon; when discharged, I was told to call next day for an appt. in 2 weeks; then when I called, I was told I couldn't be seen by either of my doctors until 12/17. I think I should be seen by a doctor and get my cystogram results prior to returning to work, so trying to work that issue with all involved.

Anyway, I will call you after I get my breakfast down...should be soon...hugs, M.

Julie,

Yes, I recall those early days when I was trying to cath every two hours...I remember cathing and thinking I would be good for two hours, only to find the front of my shirt wet 45 mniutes later. And I remember the frustration and the tears. I remember wondering if things would ever improve. I contacted my doctor and he tried to reassure me by telling me I was still in the very early stages of recovery and in time, things would calm down. And they did. It took weeks for me to get to where I wanted to be. Your dear bladder is just annoyed from being having been cut on and re-arranged; poor thing was happy being just a piece of intestine...then thrust into a new job as a bladder. The bladder is just like us when learning a new job...takes patience and practice and time. I know it is tough for you now...let yourself cry...I think it helps to let out the frustration...trust this situation is only temporary...love yourself and that new bladder. In time this bladder will be your best bud. In time, you will feel better about this new duo. I just know it. Keeping you in my prayers and thoughts. Hugs, Melodie

yes..when i was drinking too much. Ask him again about the sterile saline solution for irrigation only.
The spasm is the body's way of telling you to empty..its at capacity. When i first had my Indiana it felt like a labor pain.

Hi to all my BC family
Well Im still having a problem (urine eruptions) from my stoma and from around the supra pubic tube. I am cathing ok but I get this weird spasm feeling and then it just shoots out all over me and my clothes or bed!! During the day it happens around 1hr45 min to 2 hrs so I try and keep ahead of it but cathing every 1 1/2 hrs is tiring. At night it is happening every hour and it was to much so Dr said to just attach bag back into supra pubic. Im going to get Supra pubic out tues and dont know how will cath every 45 min. Cynthia gave me great info on male guards they absorb a heck of a lot so they are helping but I cant go outside my house because when it erupts Im covered with urine all over.
I am getting so depressed. Crying doesnt even help.
My Dr e-mailed and said it may take a few months I will ask on Tues does he mean it will erupt every hour for a few months or it will slowly gain in capacity. His residents say they have never heard of this.
I am so frustrated and scared I know everyone has problems now and then with a pouch that acts up but this is every few hrs has anyone else had this happen? Julie
