Flyrod,

A healthy body is not the same as a body recovering from a surgical procedure.

Besides that, you know darn well those cans were over 20 lbs.

Dude!!! Don't be straining and doing things you are not supposed to. How long it takes for recovery depends on how much they do so it is different for everybody.

Most likely the blood is NOT coincidence and it is directly related to straining. Let your bladder heal properly and keep your activity to a minimum for a while.

Usually it is only a week or two but again, that depends on how much cutting they had to do. If you hadn't done the straining you already did you would be that much closer to being healed up already. That straining means the blood started going again and it needs to heal.

Two weeks on light duty shouldn't be that hard to do.
Sit down and have a beer! :)

First I would like to thank Mike, Patricia and the many others who have taken the time to post on the board here and help the rest of us find our way.

I am in Central Florida and have had a TURP in Shands at the University of Florida where a couple small areas were removed by physician. I go back for my Pathology results and discussion on 8/24. I know I should not try and guess what is going on inside me until I get the pathology back; however, I do have a couple questions that are relevant in the mean time.

How soon where you able to get up to physical activity after your TURP? My physician requested I take it easy for the two week period and not lift more than 20 lbs. On day three after TURP I was feeling and peeing better, so I drove to town to get some things. I did not do much, just walking around stores, loading things in and out of car (nothing over or close to twenty pounds) and driving around. The level of blood and clots went up noticeably that evening.

On day six I moved around and took garbage to the dump. I might have moved around a couple cans that were near 20 pounds and again the blood and clot level went up on a recent pee but returns to the more usual. I feel a healthy body needs movement, but I don't want to jeopardize my treatment.

What have been your experiences with after TURP blood and clot levels in your urine? I am wondering if the occasion voids of dark urine and clots could be coincidence and these will continue off and on for a while.

What was your activity level after TURP?
