Recently my husband found out he had a tumor/cancer in his bladder. I have a couple of questions and was hoping someone could help.

First the background. Almost 1 1/2 months ago my husband found blood in his urine. He went to the doctor and the was told it could be an infection or cancer and was referred to a Urologist. After a blood test to test for cancer cells, a CT scan and a ultrasound, they found nothing, so they finally did a Cystoscopy and found a small tumor. This was three weeks ago and now we have to wait another month for the surgery to have it his removed.

Obviously we are scared and anxious and the longer we wait, the more often he is having blood in his urine.

So...here are my questions:

1. He hadn’t had blood in his urine since the first day until 2 weeks ago. He called and they said to drink a lot of water and take it easy, now he is getting blood in his urine almost every day. Is t his normal? Should we be concerned that the symptoms are happening more often?

2. Is it unusual to wait this long for surgery?

3. If we have to wait almost 3 months since the first signs, should we be concerned it is going to get worse?

I know I might be overreacting but the waiting is getting to us. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
