Just starting the journey

This is not a glitch, it is a result of some live testing I had to do on the new discuss button in the blog component.

If you click on any of the blog categories you will see there is a button there called "Discuss"

Cynthia had posted a blog about this feature previously and I think an announcement in the forum.

Unfortunately it was not moving the blog to the proper category in the forum.

In other words when you hit discuss in a non invasive blog it should move it to the non invasive category in the forum.

It was not doing that properly.

As a result I needed to to fix it which meant I had to do some "live" tests on some "live" blogs and forum posts.

Live meaning they are in the "live" site database.
It should and is a very rare event and webmasters would for the vast majority of time only do this on a "dev" site

The component developers informed I could do this on the "live site" and then remove the duplicate and errant posts after from the live database.

However that turned out to be fallacious advice.

As a result what you have reported here is quite accurate.

I apologize for the inconvenience and you can be assured you are not experiencing "groundhog day" and your sanity for the most part is still in tact.

The technical issues that this caused and you experienced was truly unfortunate and more extensive than what my research told me to expect.

However I always appreciate another set of eyes and users are the best people to discern when there is an issue so I thank you very much for notifying me about this one.

I did take care of it yesterday and today it is back.I am not sure what is going on with this. It is from a blog post and it is being posting from there to the forum. I do not know if it is a glitch in the system or if someone is clicking the discuss this in the blogs and not posting to it. That has happened before as I think some people do not know how to use that feature. I am sending this on to Derek to get his opinion.
I will lock this thread and see if it happens again.

Where is the twilight series music?

I just saw your post yesterday morning, responded, and then the post was gone in the afternoon.

This is all strange.

Thanks for your help.
It was really weird because yesterday Pat sent a message asking why I brought an old post up since it was talked out. I replied that it wasn't me and then it was gone again.

Oh well,
Vi

I'm pretty sure it's just some glitch. Glad I misunderstood your comment about not posting new! :)

You, Rudy, and I are the Colorado Contingent so I always check posts I see from the two of you as soon as I can.

I don't know of it happening to others but I know that a lot of people had the same problem that had happened to you way back when. I think it was after converting over to a new system (behind the scenes) and the database got corrupted.

I reported a mess of them to Derek back then and he was fixing them as they got found.

I sent an email to Cynthia so she can have someone check to see why this keeps popping back up recently.

Have a great day!
